The department of “Children’s surgery” was organized on the basis of the order of the rector of the Bukhara State Medical Institute dated August 18, 1992. Candidate of medical sciences was appointed the head of the department. M.K. Ergashev. He directed the course until August 25, 2004.
On August 26, 2004, Doctor of Medical Sciences was appointed head of the course. K.M. Mirzhanov. In the 60s of the last century, Professor K.M. Mirzhanov founded a pediatric surgery service in the Bukhara region and in neighboring regions (Navai and Zarafshan). He directed the course until 2014. The course functioned as part of the Department of General Surgery.
From August 2016 to 2021, the course was led by Ph.D., Associate Professor Farhod Sayidovich Raupov. The course functioned as part of the Department of Pediatrics until August 2018. From August 2018 to August 2021, the course was part of the Department of Traumatology and Pediatric Surgery.
In 2021, by the decree of the rector of BukhGosMI, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sh.Zh. Teshaev, a new department of “Pediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery, Anesthesiology and Resuscitation” was organized. Until now, assistants A.D. Dilmuradov, J.V. Vosiev, R.N. Fayzullaev, Kh.Kh.
