History of the faculty

The International Faculty of the Bukhara State Medical Institute (BukhGMI) is one of the ten faculties of the institute and the only one working abroad. Connecting Uzbekistan with South and Central Asia, and Eastern Europe, the International Faculty offers students a unique opportunity to obtain a higher Uzbek degree at the Bukhara Institute in their region.

The International Faculty, supports internationalization and gives its students the opportunity to learn about the Institute’s experiences, programs and traditions. We strive to transfer knowledge, in-depth research and academic excellence throughout the region through our education system.

The first foreign students entered the Bukhara State Medical Institute in 2019. D. Khojiev was appointed to the post of the first dean of the faculty, and from 2021 D.A. Khasanova was appointed to the post. From 2019 to 2021, the number of students increased every year. Thus, starting in 2019, the international faculty has significantly expanded its opportunities for training foreign students at the Bukhara State Medical Institute, as well as expanded the training opportunities for our students in foreign universities.

The main campus of the international faculty is located in Bukhara, and the international faculty has an agreement on academic departments – basic sciences and clinical departments in hospitals.
