History of the department

The Faculties of Preventive Medicine, Biomedical and Folk Medicine have been operating as part of the Bukhara State Medical Institute since August 29, 2018.

The first dean was Candidate of Medical Sciences, associate professor H.N.Kayumov (2018-2019), then from 2019-2021 the faculties were headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences Associate Professor F.E. Nurboev, from September 5, 2021 to this day the faculty is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences M.T.Hamdamova.

The faculty trains doctors in the specialty “general practitioner” in the direction of “medical-preventive5510300, medical-biological – 5510900 and folk medicine – 5511100». The term of study at the Faculty of Preventive Medicine is 5 years, at the faculties of Biomedical and Folk Medicine is 4 years.

Students from all regions of our country study at the faculties. In addition, students from foreign countries and CIS countries study. The number of students at the faculty is growing.
