Description: The main cause of death in partner countries of Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Russia are chronic diseases. All governments of partner countries pay special attention to measures to combat chronic diseases. The World Health Organization notes that there is a need to increase the capacity of health workers in this area and noted that training of health workers at the initial level is insufficient to combat diabetes. To improve health outcomes and reduce the economic burden of chronic diseases, enhanced training at the master’s level is needed.
Partner countries have insufficient or no specific area that this project is aimed at.
The specific objective of this project is to support the modernization of the curriculum at the master's level by developing new and innovative courses and methodologies in medical research related to chronic diseases.
Key results are:
• Study tour to EU universities
• Development of the approach and requirements for the master's program
• Curriculum development in accordance with ECTS guidelines
• Development of 12 modules and short courses
• Development of programs for staff training and mobility
• Conduct 3 week refresher courses in the EU
• Conducting 3 2-week training coaches courses at partner universities
• Launch of master programs with follow-up courses to train coaches
• Carrying out three-month student mobility
The impact of the project will be felt in the health sector due to the fact that health workers are trained in a new curriculum using a holistic approach to patient care and public health, which acts as a model for other professionals in this sector. The recipients of the project are patients who ultimately benefit from improved medical competencies, and governments that can reduce the costs of treating chronic diseases.
