Today, Tamer Hammad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Uzbekistan, along with Hannan Bashari, Deputy Head of Mission and Counselor, visited Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina.

During the visit, the Ambassador, accompanied by the Institute’s Rector, Professor Shukhrat Teshayev, and Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Laziz Niyazov, became acquainted with the university’s academic and scientific activities.

The guests toured the Information Resource Center, the Main Conference Hall, and the museum dedicated to the life and scientific heritage of Ibn Sina and the history of the Institute.

Ambassador Tamer Hammad praised the Institute’s modern laboratory facilities, student-friendly infrastructure, and innovative educational approaches.

He also held a warm discussion with Egyptian students, inquiring about their study quality, living conditions, and research interests. The students expressed their gratitude for the professors’ attention and the high standard of education in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, Rector Shukhrat Teshayev emphasized that scientific and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt has a thousand-year history:
“The works of the great scholar Abu Ali ibn Sina were studied for centuries not only in Central Asia but also in the madrasas of Egypt, Baghdad, Damascus, and Cairo. Today, we are continuing those historical academic ties at a new level,” said the Rector.
At the end of the visit, both parties discussed expanding cooperation between universities of Uzbekistan and Egypt in the field of medicine and developing academic exchange programs for professors and students.
