Tursunov Shermukhammadkhoja Lutfulloevich was born on May 27, 1985, in Bukhara district, Bukhara region. In 2009, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino.
From 2009 to 2011, he completed a residency in “Cardiac Surgery” at the A.N. Bakulev Research Institute in Moscow. He continued his education from 2011 to 2014 in a postgraduate program specializing in cardiac surgery at the same institute.
From 2010 to 2015, he obtained a certificate in X-ray endovascular diagnostics and treatment from the State Budgetary Institution of Postgraduate Education, Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
On December 19, 2014, he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences by the Scientific Center of Cardiovascular Surgery named after A.N. Bakulev. After that, from 2014 to 2017, he completed a doctoral program in “Cardiac Surgery” at this institute.
From 2017 to 2023, he worked as the head of the angio-graphy and X-ray endovascular surgery department at the Bukhara Multidisciplinary Medical Center. He performed over 6,000 surgeries, including the first-ever stenting of cardiovascular systems and implantation of pacemakers in the region. Additionally, he carried out complex interventions on brain vessels, working with international specialists on more than 100 surgeries.
Since 2021, he has been appointed as the Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs at the Bukhara State Medical Institute.
In addition to his duties as Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs, Shermukhammadkhoja Lutfulloevich also serves as the chief physician of the Bukhara State Medical Institute Clinic named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. The clinic was officially registered and began its activities on March 27, 2024.
The clinic has departments for cerebrovascular pathology (neurology), therapy, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, trauma and orthopedics, reconstructive surgery (ENT), and reproductive medicine (obstetrics and gynecology). The polyclinic on the first floor provides medical services to patients. The cardiac surgery department began its operations, and laparoscopic surgeries have been performed in the surgical department since August 2023. Additionally, new neurosurgical operations have been introduced. Surgeries for brain tumors, spinal cord hernias, congenital defects, and endoscopic removal of pituitary adenomas are performed at the neurosurgery department.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, it is planned to integrate with 15 scientific centers in 24 scientific fields, with 12 district and 8 regional health departments in 44 fields of clinical practice.
In the territory of the institute, land has been set aside to increase the area of non-traditional crops based on the soil and climate conditions, development of folk medicine in cooperation with scientific and research institutes on the development of recommendations on planting crops, medicinal plants from local medicinal plants. In order to establish the production of medicine, a land area has been allocated on the side of the new campus, where 17 types of medicinal plants are cultivated.

Implementing the instructions of relevant higher organizations, decisions of the Academic Council, and orders of the rector related to medical activities.
