The opening ceremony for the 2021-2022 academic year at the Ibn Sino Medical Faculty and the Ibn Sino Health Services Vocational School of the University of Health Sciences took place on October 16, 2021, in the city of Afshona, near Bukhara, the homeland of the famous physician and philosopher Ibn Sina.
The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Peshku District, Vahob Hamitovich Qahhorov, Rector of Bukhara Medical Institute, Professor Kemalettin Ayd, Deputy Dean of the Ibn Sino Medical Faculty, and Director of the Ibn Sino Health Services Vocational School, Associate Professor Aynur Feyzioğlu, along with various distinguished guests. These included faculty members appointed to the Ibn Sino Medical Faculty and Health Services Vocational School, such as Professor Fatmagül, Dr. Varol, Dr. Taner Shahin, Dr. Ali Akda, Dr. Enes Akyüz, Dr. Murat Hasanoglu, and Turkish language instructors Ilyos Ordueri and Sat-D. Engin from the Maarif Foundation.
The ceremony began with the singing of national anthems from both countries, followed by speeches from the Governor Vahob Hamitovich Qahhorov, Rector Professor Dr. Shuhrat Jumayevich Tashayev, Prorector Professor Dr. Kemalettin Ayd, and Associate Professor Dr. Aynur Feyzioğlu. The speeches highlighted the importance of medical education and the collaboration between Turkey and Uzbekistan.
After the speeches, students read their presentations in both Turkish and Uzbek languages. Following this, they participated in the White Coat Ceremony, marking the beginning of their journey into professional medical education. The program concluded with performances of Turkish and Uzbek songs, followed by a local dance show prepared by the students.
