About The Event

We invite you to participate in the international scientific-practical conference

Dear Colleagues!

Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino invites you to participate in the international scientific-practical conference on the theme: “Ophthalmology Today and a Look into the Future”, which will be held on December 4-5, 2026. The conference will be conducted in a hybrid (in-person and online) format. Within the framework of the conference, work is planned in the following areas:

  1. Problems of pediatric ophthalmology
  2. Pathology of the anterior segment of the eye and ocular surface
  3. Diseases of the posterior segment
  4. Refractive pathology
  5. Intraocular pressure pathology: modern approaches to diagnosis, therapy, monitoring
  6. Modern trends in ophthalmic surgery

Venue: Uzbekistan, Bukhara, Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino.

Materials from the scientific-practical conference will be published in a conference proceedings collection.

Each author may submit articles and no more than 2 abstracts on the above-mentioned sections.

Abstracts will be published FREE OF CHARGE. Acceptance of presentation applications and preliminary registration of participants until September 1, 2026.

The official languages of the conference are Uzbek, Russian, and English. Registration fee for conference participants is not required.

Forms of participation in the conference: in-person (presentation with report) and remote (publication of abstracts).

Materials for participation in the conference are accepted until September 1, 2026.

Requirements for formatting materials:

Abstract formatting rules: Abstracts must be formatted according to the following requirements: text must be typed in Microsoft Word 2003, Times New Roman font, font size 12, line spacing – 1.0, margins top and bottom – 2 cm, left – 3.0 cm, right – 1.5 cm. Abstract volume – 1 page. The abstract text should not contain illustrations, diagrams, tables, graphs, or references.

Text placement on the page:

Line 1 – title of abstract (in capital letters)

Line 2 – Full name of author

Line 3 – name of institution where the work was performed, city, country

Line 4 – text of abstract

ARTICLES. Deadline for article submission: September 1, 2026

Article formatting rules:

The article must be accompanied by an official referral from the institution where the work was conducted, with the signature of the supervisor

The volume of original clinical articles and reviews should not exceed 10-12 pages, brief communications, case reports – 3-4 pages of typed text

Word abbreviations are not allowed, except for commonly accepted ones. When describing medications, the International Nonproprietary Name (INN) must be indicated

The title page must contain: 1. UDC code; 2. Article title, which should be informative and sufficiently brief; 3. Full names of authors; 4. Address and full name of the institution and department (chair, laboratory) where the work was performed; 5. Contact person responsible for communication with the editorial office: full name, academic degree and title, complete postal address (with zip code), contact phone, e-mail or ORCID

Articles with original research should contain the following sections, clearly distinguished from each other: 1. Brief relevance of the problem (introduction); 2. “Research objective”; 3. “Materials and methods”; 4. “Results”; 5. “Discussion”; 6. “Conclusions”. Sections 4 and 5 may be combined into one, i.e., “Results and discussion.”

The abstract should be no more than 1/3 of a page in Uzbek, Russian, and English (for foreign authors, translation into Uzbek will be provided by the editorial office). The abstract should preserve the structure of the article – introduction, goals and objectives, research methods, results, conclusions

Under the abstract, place the subheading “Keywords,” followed by 3 to 10 keywords or phrases in Uzbek, Russian, and English

The list of references is placed at the end of the article on a separate sheet and includes bibliographic descriptions of all works cited in the text (no more than 20-25 sources)

All illustrative material (figures, diagrams, photographs, tables) is placed in the file after the list of references, designated by the word “figure” (except for tables), and numbered. Figures must have captions. The text must reference the corresponding figure, which is formatted in square brackets. Tables, graphs, and diagrams are constructed in Word editor; axes must indicate units of measurement. Electronic versions of figures, photographs, and diagrams are presented in black and white, in .jpeg format with a resolution of at least 300 ppi.

Technical requirements for manuscript formatting: Text editor – Microsoft Word; Paper format, orientation – A4, portrait; Font – Times New Roman; Font size – 14 points; Line spacing – 1.5; Text alignment – justified; Paragraph indent (first line) – 1.0 cm; Page numbering – bottom, right

All submitted works undergo peer review. The editorial office reserves the right to shorten published materials and adapt them to journal sections. Articles not formatted according to these rules will not be considered and will not be returned to authors. Submission of works that have been published in other publications or sent for publication to other journals is not permitted.

When sending articles and abstracts by email, they are sent as an attached file. In the “Subject” line, indicate “Conference Abstracts”; the attached file should be named with the first author’s surname, for example: “abdullayev.doc” (in case of submitting 2 abstracts: “abdullayev1.doc”, “abdullayev2.doc”)

  • Articles and abstracts are accepted only with a completed registration card (Appendix 1), which is also sent to our email address along with the abstracts (on the second page)
  • Please inform the organizing committee about your arrival and participation in the conference (presentation) no later than September 1, 2026
  • Abstracts that do not meet the requirements WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
