THE INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL OF THE PROJECT “HARMONEE” STARTED IN BUKHARA WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ERASMUS + PROJECT OF THE EUROPEAN UNION
As part of the implementation of the Erasmus + program, the first international school was held in our alma mater from June 27 to July 9, 2022.
The ceremony was opened by the Rector of the Institute, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Sh.Zh. Teshaev and MD, Professor Claudio Colosio (University of Milano).
In their speech, they greeted and expressed gratitude to everyone who takes part in the work on organizing the summer school. Our rector noted that the summer school will be an incentive to expand the scope of cooperation.
Obviously, at present, in the system of medical education, both in Uzbekistan and abroad, the relevance of training specialists with higher education in the field of environmental protection and public health is increasing. The priority problems of public health today are the assertion of the dominant role of preventive medicine, the introduction of the concept of a healthy lifestyle, and the improvement of the quality of medical services.
One of the problems in the competence of master’s programs is the allocation of a small amount of time to issues of occupational health and environmental protection.
The purpose of organizing this summer school is to solve problems in the teaching of knowledge and skills, as well as the mutual recognition of master’s programs in occupational health and the environment in medical universities in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Under the guidance of teachers and experts from the Netherlands and Italy, working groups will develop modules (public health, environmental protection) for master’s programs.
During the Summer School, young researchers will also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the field of higher medical education, promising areas of research, participate in seminars and master classes by leading foreign scientists, refine the design and methodology of their own research project, and outline new research areas in their work.
The working language of the Summer School is English.
