Abstract

Traditional laparoscopic longitudinal gastrectomy cannot be considered as a universal intervention in patients with metabolic syndrome. In this case, there is an objective need to revise the tactics, including such steps as: development of patient selection criteria; preoperative verification of gastroesophageal reflux disease; and, in the presence of reflux symptoms, performing the operation in a modified form with an antireflux sleeve.
