Abstract
According to data from the World Health Organization, 3 million people die each year as a result of excessive alcohol consumption. This figure accounts for 5.3% of all deaths worldwide (WHO, 2020). Statistical data shows that in 2017, every second adult in the world consumed alcohol, indicating a risk of alcoholism for 2.6 billion people. Researchers note that over the past ten years, alcohol consumption has increased several times and is projected to continue growing in the future. Alcoholism can lead to both social and non-social health problems: cardiovascular diseases, cancers, gastrointestinal disorders, various pathological conditions of the nervous system, as well as numerous traffic accidents.
