Abstract

This paper highlights the principles of modern laboratory diagnosis of anemia. Anemia is a hematological syndrome characterized by a decrease in the level of hemoglobin or the number of red blood cells and caused by various etiological factors. Due to the variety of causes and forms of the disease, the use of laboratory diagnostic methods with high accuracy and reliability is of great importance. In this work, modern laboratory methods such as a general blood test (GBT), indicators of iron metabolism (ferritin, iron, transferrin), and biochemical methods for determining the level of reticulocytes are considered. The correct choice of diagnostic principles is important not only for determining the exact type of anemia, but also for developing an individual treatment strategy.
