Abstract

The article discusses the issues of diagnostics and choice of tactics for surgical treatment of one of the rarest diseases - malignant tumors of the heart. In the practice of cardiac surgery clinics, primary malignant neoplasms of the heart are rarely encountered, which, due to their course characteristics, compli cate timely diagnostics and decision on surgical correction of this disease. As the authors point out, the lat ter are asymptomatic in a large percentage of cases, thereby complicating timely diagnostics of heart dam age. In the authors' example, the patient had previously been operated on for a malignant neoplasm of the left shoulder, after removal of which a metastatic version of the tumor was detected in a short period - he mangiosarcoma of the right atrium. Adequate correction was performed - removal of the tumor under artifi cial circulation and cardioplegia. After a successful operation, the patient was discharged on the 6th day with a recommendation to continue chemoradiation therapy in an oncology clinic under the supervision of cardiologists.
