A Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between BSMI and Baku State University

The delegation of the Abu Ali Ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute (BSMI), currently participating in a number of prestigious higher education events in Azerbaijan, visited Baku State University (BSU), where a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two institutions.

The memorandum was signed by Professor Shuhrat Teshayev, Rector of BSMI, and Elchin Babayev, Rector of BSU.

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding scientific and educational cooperation, conducting joint research in the field of medicine and related disciplines, exchange of faculty and students, and developing joint scientific publications and academic programs.

At the event, Rector Elchin Babayev presented information about BSU’s history, scientific research in medical fields, and the activities of the Department of Biomedical Materials specializing under ICESCO. He emphasized that cooperation with BSMI holds great potential for future collaboration.

Professor Shuhrat Teshayev noted that the memorandum represents another significant step in the friendly relations between the higher education institutions of the two countries. He provided an overview of BSMI’s 35-year history, its enrollment of over 10,000 students, and its modern clinical facilities. He also highlighted that BSMI is actively developing partnerships with leading medical universities around the world.

Under the signed memorandum, the parties plan to organize joint scientific conferences, seminars, symposia, short-term courses, training sessions, scientific research, collaborative publications, and exchange programs involving faculty members, students, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, and researchers.

BSMI leadership believes this cooperation will create great opportunities for both institutions and bring a new stage in the integration of science and education.
