Bukhara State Medical Institute and Turkey: Healthcare Cooperation Reaches a New Stage

Today, international cooperation plays an essential role in the strategic development of every higher education institution. One such example of effective cooperation can be clearly seen in the relations between the Abu Ali Ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute and the leading educational and healthcare institutions of the Republic of Turkey.

In May of this year, the official visit of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Turkey, Vedat Işıkhan, and his delegation to Bukhara opened a new chapter in strengthening this cooperation. The delegation included Ufuk Ulutaş, the Turkish Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and Kemaliddin Aydın, the Rector of the Health Sciences University.

During the meeting held at the Bukhara State Medical Institute, the issues of strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the fields of medicine and healthcare, were discussed. Agreements were made on labor protection, creating suitable working conditions for medical staff, expanding scientific and practical experience exchange, and further enhancing the capabilities of the branch of the Health Sciences University operating in Bukhara.

Importantly, since 2019, under the auspices of Bukhara State Medical Institute, a collaboration with Turkey’s Health Sciences University has been providing training for specialists in four fields. Graduates of these programs are now effectively working in various sectors of Uzbekistan’s healthcare system.

During the meeting, the rector of the institute, Professor Shuhrat Teshayev, expressed his satisfaction with this cooperation and announced that even more large-scale projects would be implemented in the future. In addition, the guests were presented with national robes as a symbol of the hospitality of the Uzbek people.

In conclusion, the cooperation between the Bukhara State Medical Institute and Turkey in the fields of education and healthcare not only strengthens the friendly ties between the two countries but also contributes significantly to the development of the healthcare system in our country.

Yesterday, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Vedat Işıkhan, paid a visit to Abu Ali Ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute. He was accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Uzbekistan, Mr. Ufuk Ulutaş, and the Rector of the University of Health Sciences, Mr. Kemalettin Aydın.

During the meeting held at the Bukhara State Medical Institute, discussions focused on the strategic partnership between the two countries, particularly in the field of medicine and healthcare.
