On May 16, 2025, the 79th International Scientific and Practical Conference of students and young scientists was held at Samarkand State Medical University, under the theme “Achievements in Fundamental, Applied Medicine and Pharmacy.” This prestigious scientific event brought together nearly 40 delegations from countries including China, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Bashkortostan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, as well as various higher medical education institutions and research centers from Uzbekistan.

The opening ceremony was held at the Youth Center in Samarkand, where the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Jasur Rizaev, addressed the participants with a welcome speech. He emphasized the importance of the conference in the field of scientific and practical medicine, the opportunities created for young researchers, and its role in strengthening international scientific cooperation. The ceremony continued in a festive atmosphere with musical performances and cultural presentations.

Over 660 students and young researchers participated in the conference, presenting their scientific work in 24 sections. Current issues in medicine were discussed, and “Young Scientists Club” roundtable discussions were organized, offering productive exchanges of ideas and startup project proposals.

It is a matter of pride to note that students from Bukhara State Medical Institute (BuxDTI) actively participated in this international conference and achieved remarkable results. In particular:

• Mohigul Atoyeva and Manzura Sharipova won 1st place.
• Maftuna Khojamurodova and Gulasal Tojiyeva secured 2nd place.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants were awarded diplomas, certificates, and commemorative gifts.

Such international events play a vital role in engaging students in research activities, realizing their scientific potential and initiatives, and improving the quality of education in fundamental and clinical sciences. Undoubtedly, these forums contribute to the advancement of the healthcare sector in our country and strengthen international cooperation among higher education institutions.
