Cooperation Memorandum Signed Between Bukhara State Medical Institute and Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

A delegation led by Prof. Shuhrat Teshayev, Rector of the Abu Ali ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute, is currently on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China. As part of the visit, meetings were held with several leading Chinese universities to discuss the development of academic cooperation.

During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (YUTCM), one of China’s leading medical universities.

Founded in 1960, YUTCM is a large public university specializing in traditional Chinese medicine, herbal treatment, physiotherapy, acupuncture, healthcare management, and nursing.

Currently, the university has around 25,000 students, including hundreds of international students.

It is noteworthy that over 50% of medical practice in China is based on traditional medicine, and YUTCM is one of the leading academic and research centers in this field.

The signed memorandum includes cooperation in the following areas:

Student and academic staff exchange;

Joint educational programs;

Collaborative research and co-supervised dissertations;

Cultivation and application of medicinal herbs;

Clinical training and international internships.

This partnership will enhance Bukhara State Medical Institute’s international academic network, deepen the integration of traditional and modern medicine, and boost its capacity in training future specialists.
