From Medical Education to Practice: A Key Step in Ensuring Employment for Graduates

Today, one of the priority areas of state policy in our country is the further development of the healthcare sector, providing the population with quality medical services, and ensuring the employment of young specialists. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has implemented a number of important initiatives and decisions in this direction. Special attention is being paid to attracting young professionals graduating from medical universities to remote and underserved regions, and creating favorable working and living conditions for them.

In order to effectively organize the employment of graduates in their field of study, a “Career Day” job fair was held at the Bukhara State Medical Institute.

The event was attended by representatives from the health departments of Bukhara and Kashkadarya regions, regional medical associations and centers, the penal institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as healthcare leaders from Tashkent region. The rector of the institute, Shuhrat Teshaev, opened the event with a speech, wishing success to the graduates and officially declaring the job fair open. Alisher Boboev, Head of the Kashkadarya Health Department, and Elyor Oltiyev, Head of the Bukhara Health Department, also addressed the graduates, highlighting the opportunities available to them.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the Bukhara State Medical Institute has 857 graduates, including 19 master’s students and 222 clinical residency graduates. During the event, job offers were presented to them by employers, employment contracts were signed, and full information about available vacancies was provided.

Direct communication between employers and students allowed young professionals to plan their future careers and choose their first workplace.

Such events not only help ensure the employment of graduates, but also contribute to training qualified personnel for the healthcare sector and improving the quality of medical services in remote areas. As the President emphasized, every citizen, regardless of where they live, should have access to quality medical care. In this regard, young professionals assigned to remote regions are provided with housing, additional financial support, and opportunities for professional development.

These reforms play a significant role in fundamentally improving the healthcare system of our country and helping young professionals find their place in society. Undoubtedly, today’s graduates will contribute greatly to protecting public health as dedicated doctors in the future.
