At the fronts of the Second World War 73 thousand 688 people, who left the Bukhara region, took up arms and took part in the fight against fascism. 30 thousand of them remained on the battlefields. Of the children of this ancient land, 13 were heroes, and one was awarded the Order of glory of the three levels.
On the eve of the holiday, 15 participants of the Second World War in the region were welcomed on the basis of the decree of the president, and they were awarded a one-time cash prize, congratulations of our compatriots and valuable gifts in a solemn manner. Also, during the years of independence, veterans of Labor, military servicemen who died during the service duty, as well as employees of law enforcement agencies went to the apartments and provided material and moral assistance to family members.
The main festivities took place today, 9 may in the city of Bukhara. Early in the morning, the sounds of military songs all went to the alley of memory.
Employees of the regional administration, law enforcement agencies, representatives of the military, state and public organizations and young people laid wreaths at the monument to the mourning mother as a symbol of deep respect for the memory of the victims of the war.
The memory of our grandfathers, whose blessed names were inscribed on the Golden Pages in the “Book of memory”, was remembered.
