Preventive Event Held to Protect Women from Harassment and Violence

📌 At Abu Ali ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute, a preventive event was organized with the participation of officials from the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs and the institute’s prevention inspector, G. Odilova, together with the institute’s faculty members. The aim was to prevent crimes and offenses among women and to protect them from harassment and violence.

✔️ During the event, information was provided about the procedure for issuing a “Protection Order” to women who have suffered from harassment and violence, as well as about mechanisms to resolve conflicts in problematic families.

It was noted that, according to Article 19 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Status of a Teacher” (Law No. O‘RQ-901 of February 1, 2024), the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is tasked with ensuring the implementation of this Law, communicating it to executors, and explaining its essence and importance to the public. In order to fulfill this requirement, the Bukhara State Medical Institute organized an explanatory seminar on the content and significance of the Law. More than 40 professors and teachers took part in the seminar, where key issues were emphasized, including: teachers’ rights and duties, guarantees of professional activity, fair remuneration and incentives, principles of social protection, as well as the state’s obligation to safeguard teachers’ honor, dignity, and professional reputation. It was also underlined that teachers cannot be forced to purchase goods or services, nor can deductions be made from their salaries without their written consent.
