The ceremonial opening of the medical festival dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Azerbaijan Medical University and the 102nd birthday of the national leader Heydar Aliyev took place. Renowned scientists and representatives from leading medical universities from countries such as Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Belarus participated in this prestigious event. The festival focused on the current issues of modern medical science, scientific achievements, and strengthening international cooperation.

The participants first honored the memory of Heydar Aliyev by laying wreaths at his monument. The exhibitions and startup areas organized as part of the festival aroused great interest among the guests.

Professor Shukhrat Toshayev, the rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute, who participated as part of the Uzbek delegation, emphasized in his welcoming speech the recognition of Azerbaijan Medical University as a prestigious scientific institution in the Eurasian region. He also highly praised the activities conducted within the framework of this international scientific platform and expressed a desire to expand scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities. Specific proposals were made to enhance bilateral relations through the exchange of students and professors, as well as through joint scientific projects and conferences.

During the festive ceremony, the rector of Azerbaijan Medical University, Professor Garay Garaybeyli, spoke about the university’s achievements, growth in international rankings, and modern approaches in science and education. He noted that the university currently has over 7,500 students, of which more than 3,000 are international students, supported by over 1,500 staff members.

It should be noted that during the festival, scientific panel sessions on various medical fields, the “ATUREK 13” conference, and the final conference of the ATU Student Scientific Society were planned to take place over several days.

Bukhara State Medical Institute actively participated in this international scientific and educational platform, showcasing its scientific potential and taking significant steps to strengthen cooperation ties.
