Currently, the “Followers of Tomiris” regional sports competition is taking place at the “Universal” Sports Complex of Bukhara State University, among female students of higher education institutions.

The opening ceremony of the competition began with the National Anthem of Uzbekistan. The event was inaugurated by the Rector of Bukhara State University, Obidjon Khamidov, who emphasized the importance of supporting the active participation of female students in sports, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and ensuring the physical and spiritual well-being of young people, especially girls. He also wished success to all participants.

The competition is organized in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Department and the Faculty of Sports and Arts of Bukhara State University. Teams from Bukhara State University, Bukhara State Technical University, Bukhara State Medical Institute, and Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute are participating.

At present, the competition continues with intense and fierce contests. The events, such as “Team Introduction”, “We Are Fellow in Sports”, “First Aid”, and “Cycling”, have been launched.

Participating teams are demonstrating their preparedness, agility, teamwork, and practical skills in each contest. The competitions that require speed and collaboration are adding a special charm to the event.

This competition serves to increase female students’ interest in sports, strengthen their physical fitness, and develop their teamwork and quick decision-making skills.
