On February 18, in the city of Rome, at Roma Tre University, the Second Forum of Rectors of higher education institutions of Uzbekistan and Italy took place. The forum was aimed at deepening scientific and innovative cooperation, expanding academic exchange, and developing joint projects.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov, the Minister of Universities and Research of Italy Anna Maria Bernini, Director of the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education Baxtiyor Yo‘ldashev, the Rector of Roma Tre University Massimiliano Fiorucci, as well as the President of Italian Association of Public and Private Universities (CHRUI) Laura Ramaciotti.

It was noted that cooperation between the two countries in the fields of education and science is steadily developing.

The forum was attended by the Vice-Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino Laziz Niyazov, who held a number of negotiations with Italian universities.

In particular, during a meeting with the Rector of University of Pisa Riccardo Zucchi and Vice-Rector Giovanni Federico Gronchi, issues of academic exchange and the establishment of joint scientific research were discussed.

The delegation also became acquainted with the scientific laboratories of Roma Tre University, where agreements were reached on implementing joint projects in the field of fundamental sciences.

During negotiations with the Head of International Cooperation at University of Milano-Bicocca Mauricio Acciarry, opportunities for developing scientific capacity and launching joint educational programs were discussed.

As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached to develop long-term cooperation in the fields of medicine and fundamental sciences.
