Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino

As of 2023, the institute had one student dormitory (TTJ) designed to accommodate 400 students. Starting from the 2023/2024 academic year, three new dormitories, each with a capacity of 1,200 students, were commissioned at the new campus. The existing old dormitory was fully renovated and equipped with two-tier bunk beds, increasing its capacity from 400 to 540 places.

As a result, the total student housing capacity has increased 4.35 times, and currently, the institute provides a total of 1,740 dormitory beds across two locations.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, the number of students at the Bukhara State Medical Institute has reached 7,749. To meet accommodation needs for the current academic year, the following measures have been taken:

  • Living rooms and corridors in the dormitories were repaired and furnished in accordance with modern standards.

  • Old furniture such as beds, wardrobes, desks, chairs, and other items were replaced with new ones.

All dormitory rooms and buildings were disinfected, and the laundry, drying, bathing, and cooking areas, as well as restrooms, libraries, study rooms, and “Five Important Initiatives” rooms were prepared and made fully operational.

In accordance with Order No. 583 issued by the Rector of Bukhara State Medical Institute on August 5, 2024, titled “Effective Organization of Student Support Days,” a relevant action plan was developed. Lists of available rental apartments were compiled and are being regularly published in the Telegram channel [https://t.me/bsmi7] for students in need of accommodation.

Additionally, student applications and inquiries are being accepted online. Information kiosks have been installed in three different locations within the institute’s “Student Housing Assistance Center” and through the official Telegram channel (). These info-kiosks operate according to a scheduled plan and offer volunteer services. Students and their parents visiting the center are provided with hands-on assistance in obtaining student dormitory placement.

Furthermore, quotas have been allocated as follows:

  • Dormitory No. 1, with a capacity of 550 places, has reserved 10% of its spots (55 places) for students from low-income families and those registered on official support lists.

  • Dormitory No. 2, with a capacity of 1,200 places, has allocated 20% of its places (240 spots) for similar categories.

The distribution of places was carried out strictly in accordance with official regulations, taking into account students’ course year and eligibility.

In addition, for the 1,947 students who expressed a desire to live in rental housing, a detailed list of new rental apartments located near the institute has been compiled.
