Head of the Department
The Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Bukhara Medical Institute was established on the basis of the order of Rector A.I.Muminov in 1991.
The founder of the department, Associate Professor Boltabaev Rakhmatali Kurbonalievich, organized city clinical and anatomical conferences that attracted doctors of all specialties, organized student circles. He also strengthened the staff of the department. Boltaboev has published more than 50 scientific papers, completed PhD dissertations by assistants A.H. Rustamov and R.M.Turaev, as well as morphological sections of a number of PhD dissertations. Associate Professor Boltaboev is the founder of the consultative “environments” where pathologists of the city and the region discussed complex biopsy and autopsy cases. Over the years, the department has changed its name and heads. In August 1996, by order of the rector of the Institute, R. M. Akhmedov, the Department of “Pathological Anatomy” and the Department of “Pathological Physiology” merged and was renamed the Department of “Pathology”. In September 1998, the department was named “Pathological Anatomy and pathological Physiology”.
In 2005, the Department of “Pathological Anatomy” and “Pathological Physiology” was divided into two, “Pathological Anatomy” merged with the Department of “Forensic Medicine”, and was named the Department of “Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine” After Boltabayev’s death, the department was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences B.T.Allaberdiev from 2007 to 2010. 2011 – 2017 the department was headed by PhD G.B.Zhuraeva The staff of the department conducted a number of scientific, educational and methodological works. Dzhuraeva prepared a monograph “Morphological changes in young children with acute intestinal infections”, formed the necessary documents for approval The high scientific and educational potential of the Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine has been supported for years by the active scientific work of the staff (professors, associate professors, assistants).

The staff of the department prepares curricula, teaching aids on the topics of practical classes with the development of new forms of control of students’ knowledge.
The department implements an educational training program in the direction of pathological anatomy. Clinical residents are trained in the specialty of pathological anatomy.
The scientific work of students is encouraged at the department. The forms of students’ participation in scientific work include regular meetings of the student scientific circle, participation in various student conferences, as well as participation in republican competitions of student papers.
These days, a group of professors and teachers from the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina is on a business trip to the Republic of Turkey.
Our representatives conduct practice in clinics and educational institutions at the University of Medical Sciences for the purpose of mutual exchange of experience.
