History of the department
The department “Human Anatomy” was created on October 1, 1990 by the order of the rector, professor A.I. Muminov. The Department of Surgery and Topographic Anatomy began its work on September 2, 1991. In April 2005, the department “Human Anatomy” and “Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy” were merged. Since 2017, the department has been renamed into “Anatomy and Clinical Anatomy (OSTA)”.
In the past, the Department of Human Anatomy was headed by associate professor K.R. Ochilov (1990-1996), professor B.A. Khidoyatov (1996-2012), associate professor A.B. Radjabov (2012-2014), professor Sh.J. Teshaev (2014-2016), associate professor A.B. Radjabov (2016-2020), PhD D.A. Khasanova (2021). Since September, 2021 R.R. Baymuradov – head of the department.

Bukhara State Medical Institute was established in October 1990, from the first day of work of morphological departments were focused on the process of educational practice and deepening the work of scientific work. Naturally, first of all, the department of morphological sciences was created, in which highly qualified specialists from medical institutes of the republic were involved. To complete the educational process in these departments, morgues were organized, sets of microscopes and micropreparations were brought, the rooms were equipped with the necessary equipment and visual aids. They, in turn, were updated over the years: each class had a skeleton, a set of bones, tablets, electronic stands, models and tables. At the same time, an anatomical museum was created at the department, which was replenished with new equipment over the years. The department pays special attention to the independent work of students, prepares macro and micropreparations, as well as models of individual organs, which are regularly used in lectures and practical classes.
Spiritual and educational work
During the academic year, the department conducts spiritual and educational work aimed at the formation and development of an independent worldview based on the synthesis of the great historical heritage of our ancestors and modern thinking; education of true patriots of their homeland; the formation of highly qualified specialists who value such qualities as humanism, kindness, purity and honesty, loving and respectful parents, the older generation.
The priority direction of all activities of the institute, including our department, is the implementation of the five important initiatives put forward by the head of our state to organize social, spiritual and educational work according to the new system.
Educational and methodological works
The department conducts lectures and practical classes in anatomy for first and second year students, in clinical anatomy (OXTA) for second and third year students at the following faculties: medical, dental, medical and pedagogical, biomedical, preventive medicine, folk medicine …
During the academic year, first-year students study osteology, arthrosindesmology, myology, splanchnology, angiology, and second-year students study neurology. Second and third year students in the subject of clinical anatomy study the topographic anatomy of all organs of the human body and surgical interventions in these organs.
In addition, these subjects are taught in joint educational programs, opened in cooperation with other higher educational institutions, as well as in General medicine, MBBS for foreign students.
The educational process at the department is conducted in Uzbek, Russian and English. The department uses more than 10 interactive teaching methods. In the educational process at the department, various visual aids, wet and dry anatomical preparations, models, tablets are used. A bank of multimedia presentations on all topics of lectures and practical classes in both disciplines was prepared and submitted to the Information Resource Center of the Institute.
Scientific research works
In total, the department employs 23 employees. Of these, 2 professors, 6 associate professors, 14 assistants. All our teachers carry out scientific research as part of their scientific work. Directions of research work of the department:
- Morphological changes in internal organs in traumatic brain injury
- Morphofunctional changes in internal organs under the influence of chronic alcoholism and their correction.
- Features of anthropometric indicators in children in the conditions of Bukhara region.
