The Faculty of Dentistry was founded in 1991-1992 by Professor Akram Ibragimovich Muminov as part of the Medical Faculty of Bukhara State Medical Institute. In 1993, the Faculty of Dentistry was separated in the form of a faculty, to which the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan appointed Associate Professor YH Yunusov. Later, one of the main tasks was to train professors and teachers and to establish clinical bases for teaching students. A working group (Associate Professor YH Yunusov, M.Sh.Shodiev, T.SH.Fattakhov) was involved in the organization of the above tasks. In 1993, the leadership of the institute and the head of the Bukhara Regional Health Department, Ph.D. M.M. By the order of Abdurahmanov, the Bukhara regional dental polyclinic No. 2 was opened. Fattakhov was appointed chief judge. The head of the regional health department, t.f.d. M.M. Abdurahmanov and the rector of the institute, Professor A.I. According to Muminov’s orders, in 1993 the department of “Surgical Dentistry” was located in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Regional Clinical Hospital, the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry in the Bukhara Regional Dental Clinic No. 2, the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in the Bukhara Children’s Dentistry. 1-2 dental machines, chairs and related tools and equipment were purchased from one district dental clinics and equipped with classrooms. In 1994-1995, the department of “Orthopedic Dentistry” was established. In 1996, the old kindergarten building in the Sharq-1 district was renovated as an internship base for several departments of the Faculty of Dentistry. In 1997, the department of “Orthopedic Dentistry” was housed in this building and Professor SS Agzamkhodjaev was appointed head of the department.
