In 2019, a joint faculty was established through cooperation between the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino and Turkey’s prestigious Health Sciences University (SBU). It is worth noting that the faculty offers education in four fields, and to date, nearly 500 students have graduated from the program.

Recently, 16 students who successfully completed the “General Medicine” program received diplomas from the Health Sciences University. The diplomas were personally awarded by the university’s rector, Dr. Kemalettin Aydın.

During the ceremony, Rector Kemalettin Aydın emphasized that the bilateral cooperation, established in a short period, has led to significant achievements in the fields of education and medicine. He also expressed satisfaction that the graduates are being recognized internationally and are now working in reputable medical institutions around the world.

The graduation ceremony was attended by students from Uzbekistan, their parents, professors, and representatives of partner institutions. The participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the country, the partner university, and the institute’s staff.

Currently, students and schoolchildren across the country are enjoying their summer holidays. At the same time, various programs have been organized to make productive use of young people’s free time, including foreign language courses, sports clubs, creative and practical workshops, as well as summer internships.

📌 In this regard, under the leadership of Shuhrat Teshayev, the Rector of the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, an online meeting was held with students and their parents, involving vice-rectors, faculty deans, tutors, and mentors.

During the meeting, important recommendations were provided on how to protect students from harmful and alien ideas during the summer break, prevent offenses and crimes, and strictly adhere to safety rules.

🔹 Parents were especially reminded to monitor their children’s activities during the holidays and to support them morally and ethically.

📢 During the dialogue, parents also shared their thoughts and suggestions on strengthening cooperation with the institute’s administration.

✅ It is worth noting that such meetings are planned to be held regularly by the institute, serving to strengthen the connection within the student–parent–institute triangle.

Today, expanding international cooperation and ensuring high-level academic and scientific exchange is among the key tasks for every higher education institution.

For this purpose, on June 30 of this year, professors from one of Turkey’s leading educational institutions — Sakarya University of Applied Sciences — Prof. Dr. Oguz Turkay and Prof. Dr. Sevki Ulema — paid an official visit to Abu Ali ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute.

The main aim of the visit was to define mutually beneficial areas of cooperation and sign an official memorandum of understanding.

The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Mr. Laziz Niyazov. During the visit, the professors became acquainted with the institute’s modern infrastructure, including the simulation center, “smart greenhouse,” modern clinic, and information-resource centers.

🖊 As a result of the visit, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Sakarya University and BSMI. The agreement includes the following areas:

  • student and faculty exchange programs;
  • joint scientific research;
  • experience exchange in master’s and clinical residency programs;
  • implementation of modern methods in medical education and training.

📌 Currently, BSMI actively cooperates with around 15 higher education institutions in Turkey, strengthening its international standing and offering wider opportunities for students to deepen their medical knowledge.
