18.06.2025 2025-06-18 9:29From June 16 to 19, 2024, the “Global Sustainable Development Congress”, an international congress on sustainable development organized by the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) agency, is taking place in Istanbul.


During the business trip, extensive discussions were held with the vice-rectors of the University of Health Sciences — a partner institution of our institute — Prof. Murat Elevli and Prof. Yunus Karakoch, focusing on matters of bilateral cooperation.

The visit emphasized the importance of ongoing projects and future initiatives, particularly conducting joint scientific research in fundamental sciences and expanding bilateral academic exchange programs.

High Knowledge – The Path to a Bright Future: Diplomas Awarded to Lyceum Graduates
17.06.2025 2025-06-18 9:49Today, a grand diploma awarding ceremony was held at the Youth Center in Bukhara for the graduates of the academic lyceum under the Abu Ali ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute for the 2024/2025 academic year. A total of 241 students, who successfully completed their second year, shared joyful and emotional moments.


The event was attended by the institute’s rector, Prof. Shuhrat Teshayev, Head of the Department for Higher Education, Science and Innovation Azamat Naimov, and Deputy Governor of Bukhara Region Hafiza Artikova. They congratulated the graduates and wished them great success in their future endeavors.


This year, 220 graduates earned national and international subject certificates. Among them, 25 students were admitted to universities even before their certificates expired, with 4–5 certificates each. Ten talented students received the prestigious “Pride of the Lyceum” scholarship.


During the ceremony, the following awards were presented:
- 5 students received “Gold Medals”,
- 1 student received a “Silver Medal”,
- 84 students received diplomas with honors.
Many of today’s graduates have been admitted to prestigious universities abroad, such as:
- University College London, Imperial College London (UK),
- Arizona State University, Caltech, Boston University, Colorado University (USA),
- Pirogov Institute and Kazan Federal University (Russia),
- Korea National University and Inha University (South Korea),
- National University of Singapore and Singapore University of Economics.
Most graduates plan to continue their studies at the Bukhara State Medical Institute.
One of the most heartfelt moments was when Lyceum Director Ra’no Ismatova, with tears of joy in her eyes, proudly bid farewell to her students, whom she nurtured like her own children.


These unforgettable moments will remain a bright memory in each graduate’s life, serving as a strong foundation for their future success.

Bukhara State Medical Institute and Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University establish cooperation

The congress features panel sessions, seminars, and open discussions on crucial topics such as climate change, inclusivity, the role of education in sustainable development, digital transformation, science, and social welfare.

Participating in the event, Laziz Niyazov, Vice-Rector of the Abu Ali ibn Sino Bukhara State Medical Institute, held productive talks with representatives of several leading Turkish universities. Notably, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ).

🤝 BSMI and MAKÜ will cooperate in the following areas:
- Exchange of academic and administrative staff;
- Student exchange and placement programs;
- Joint dissertation supervision;
- Implementation of collaborative research projects;
- Organization of lectures, symposia, congresses, and conferences;
- Exchange of academic data and materials;
- Continuous collaboration in scientific and cultural fields.
📌 Note: Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) is a public higher education institution located in Burdur, southwestern Turkey. Established in 2006, it has around 30,000 students and over 1,000 faculty members.

In the 2025 Times Higher Education ranking, it holds a position in the 1501+ category. The university specializes in education, health, veterinary medicine, agriculture, engineering, and social sciences. MAKÜ collaborates with over 40 countries through programs such as Erasmus+, Mevlana, and others.

Bukhara State Medical Institute Participates in the “THE Global Sustainable Development Congress”

🌍 The large-scale event features panel sessions, seminars, and open discussions on pressing topics such as climate change, inclusivity, the role of education in global sustainable development, digital transformation, science, and social welfare.

More than 5,000 delegates from over 100 countries are attending. At the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, 9 leading universities of the country are participating with their own pavilions.


Representatives of the Bukhara State Medical Institute are also actively participating in this prominent international event. Within the institute’s pavilion, educational programs, scientific and innovative developments, international collaboration initiatives — especially those aimed at sustainable development in healthcare — are being showcased.

Public Health in Focus: On-site reception and medical examination held in G‘ijduvon
17.06.2025 2025-06-19 12:17As part of the “Urgent 90 Days” initiative, the Abu Ali ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute is placing great emphasis on improving public health literacy, disease prevention, and localized treatment services.


Today, a delegation led by the Institute’s Rector, Professor Shuhrat Teshaev, visited the G‘ijduvon district to conduct an on-site public reception. During the visit, local issues related not only to healthcare but also to medical culture in society were heard and steps for addressing them were outlined.


📍 Citizens who sought medical consultations were granted the opportunity for discounted treatment at the BSMI clinic, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to serving the public not only through education but also practical medical services.

👨⚕️ Additionally, a large-scale medical screening was organized at the district’s music school, involving over 40 qualified specialists, professors, and doctors. Cardiologists, therapists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, neurologists, and others examined hundreds of patients and provided essential diagnoses and recommendations.

🔍 Such initiatives are vital for promoting prevention, enabling early diagnosis, and raising medical awareness in the community.
