As part of international cooperation, significant events in the medical field are being implemented at Bukhara State Medical Institute. Notably, experts from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Shanghai Academy of China visited Bukhara.

Renowned nephrology professors — Dr. Ronggou Fu, Dr. Chen Zhao, Dr. Xu Jing, Dr. Liu Guo, Dr. Wei Shizhuo, and Dr. Yu Xiaoyong — conducted masterclasses at the Department of Hematology and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, sharing their knowledge and experience with master’s students and clinical residents.

In addition, the guests performed free surgical procedures on patients suffering from nephrological diseases at the institute’s clinic. Specifically, fistula placement surgeries were carried out for patients undergoing regular dialysis. Using Doppler ultrasound, the veins were assessed, problem areas identified, and anastomoses (fistulas) were created between healthy veins.

Such surgeries are crucial in addressing vascular complications that arise after long-term dialysis.

During the visit, representatives of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology — including Yang Shihong, Zhao Yijun, Zhang Siqi, and Dr. Zhang Pengbo — signed memoranda aimed at strengthening medical cooperation between Bukhara and China.

The visitors also highly evaluated the institute’s smart greenhouse, clinic, and simulation center.

It is worth noting that Bukhara State Medical Institute currently collaborates with over 50 prestigious international universities and scientific centers. In April of this year, a Chinese Language Center was established at the institute, where students and faculty members have begun studying the language.

🏛 Today, a prestigious delegation from the People’s Republic of China — composed of leading medical professionals from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University and the Shanghai Academy — visited Abu Ali ibn Sina Bukhara State Medical Institute.

👥 The delegation was led by:

👤 Prof. Dr. Ronggou Fu – Head of the Nephrology Department at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

👤 Dr. Zhang Pengbo – President of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Professor.

👤 Yang Shihong – Second-level Inspector of the Science and Technology Department of Shaanxi Province.

🔬 Other prominent scientists and physicians specializing in nephrology and hematology also participated in the visit.

🥼 The guests were welcomed by the institute’s rector, Professor Shuhrat Teshaev, along with the vice-rectors for academic affairs, science, and international cooperation. During the discussions, the two parties explored areas for expanding collaboration in medical education, scientific research, and clinical practice.

📚 The delegation is scheduled to conduct master classes for graduate and clinical residency students at the Department of Hematology and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics. They also offered practical consultations in the university clinic.

📄 Several cooperation memorandums on the treatment of nephrological diseases were signed, paving the way for deepening bilateral medical collaboration.

🏥 The Chinese guests highly praised the institute’s modern infrastructure — the “Smart” greenhouse, educational and clinical centers, simulation center, and facilities for practical training.

➡️ As a reminder, Bukhara State Medical Institute is currently collaborating with more than 50 leading universities and scientific centers worldwide. In April 2025, a Chinese Language Center was established at the institute, and both students and faculty members have begun learning the language.
