Abstract

It is known that the small intestine is one of the organs responsible for the main diges-tion in the body. The main task of the small intestine is to ensure the absorption of decomposed nutri-ents into the blood and lymph. In chemical burns with acetic acid, gastrointestinal and respiratory tract burns can occur as a result of accidental or suicidal ingestion of the substance. The circum-stances of the incident and the chemical nature of the substance determine the degree of injury and the toxicological hazard.

Key words

Acetic acid, Chemical burns of the digestive tract, Chemical burns of the esophagus (CBC), Gastrointestinal tract (GIT), computed tomography (CT), acid-base balance (AMB).
