Bukhara State Medical Institute Expands Cooperation with Indonesian Universities

A delegation from Indonesia’s prestigious higher education institutions visited Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino. The guests were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Laziz Niyazov, who introduced them to the institute’s modern infrastructure and its opportunities in the fields of education and practical medicine.

During the visit, the guests toured the institute’s educational buildings, simulation centers, scientific and practical laboratories, clinics, and centers focusing on traditional medicine. Detailed information was provided about the institute’s current international cooperation with several developed countries in the areas of education, practical medicine, science, and traditional medicine.

As noted, the growing international connections have led to nearly 2,500 foreign students currently studying at the institute, which demonstrates the increasing reputation of Bukhara State Medical Institute on the international stage.

The delegation included Dr. Maria Ulfa, International Cooperation Coordinator at Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, Mustika Ratnaningsih, Vice-Dean for Finance and Human Resources at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, Hepy Adityarini, Head of the Academic Cooperation and Mobility Department at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta, and Flora Ramona Sigit Prakoeswa, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta.

During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on their universities’ activities, education systems, and international programs. Furthermore, memorandums of cooperation were signed with Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta, Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto, and Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta.

The meeting also focused on future plans, including offering short-term practical programs for Indonesian university students at Bukhara State Medical Institute, such as 2-week and 1-month programs, establishing academic exchange programs, and expanding scientific collaboration.

Additionally, an invitation was extended for the leadership of Bukhara State Medical Institute to participate in an international conference scheduled for August this year in Indonesia.

This visit is significant for further strengthening international cooperation between the higher education institutions of both countries, exchanging experiences, and advancing the quality of medical education to a new level.
