Abstract
In oncology, chemotherapy is a high-tech modern method of combating malignant tumors by introducing chemical agents into the human body. The drug paclitaxel is a chemotherapeutic drug of plant origin, which is considered an inhibitor of mitosis and therefore is used to treat malignant tumors. It blocks cell division, disrupts the function of cellular microtubules and some protein enzymes. It changes the metabolism of amino acids, nucleic acids, lipid synthesis and negatively affects cellular respiration. In some cases, this leads to disruption of biological rhythms in the cells of the thyroid follicles. In modern medicine, the use of chemotherapy in the treatment of oncological diseases is one of the main problems of medicine, and the development of pathological changes in the thyroid gland occurs against the background of chemotherapy.
