Cardiology-a branch of medical science that studies the structure, functions and diseases of the cardiovascular system, their causes, mechanisms of development, specific course and diagnosis, as well as develops methods for their detection, treatment and prevention the formation and development of cardiology as an independent science takes place in the 19th and 20th centuries. This is probably due to the work of Aristotle, Hippocrates, Dioscorides, Galen and Ibn Sina. Knowledge of cardiology began to accumulate after the English physician Harvey in 1628 described the circulatory system. In 1761, the Australian physician Auenbrugger discovered a new method of examining internal organs — percussion.
