History of the department

The Department of Pediatric Dentistry was organized on June 30, 2003 by order of the rector of the Institute, R.M. Akhmedov.The Department of Pediatric Dentistry was organized on June 30, 2003 by order of the rector of the Institute, R.M. Akhmedov.

The head of the department was appointed Maysara Farmonovna Mamatnazarova, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor. The department was housed in the dental center in 2003 and consisted of several classrooms. The administration of the institute has created all the conditions for training students: lecture halls, offices and modern dental equipment in each treatment room. The installed drills were equipped with modern turbines and provided painless treatment.

         At the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, subjects are taught such as the prevention of dental diseases, faculty children’s therapeutic dentistry, Hospital children’s therapeutic dentistry, children’s surgical dentistry.

    On August 21, 2008, by order of the rector of the institute, the head of the department was appointed doctor of medical sciences, professor Ishmumin Ashurovich Khudayarov.

During these years, the department organized the training of students on new methods. During the management of Ishmumin Ashurovich Khudayarov, several positive changes took place at the department. Ishmumin Ashurovich Khudayarov included his contribution in the preparation of students in the field of pediatric dentistry. Khudayarov’s students work in many branches of medicine and have achieved many successes in pediatric dentistry.

 On August 19, 2009, by order of the rector of the institute, the head of the department was appointed candidate of medical sciences Siddik Sharifovich Olimov.

  On July 29, 2014, according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Education, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of the dental faculty of the Academy was established the Tashkent State Dental Institute and its branches in Andijan, Samarkand, Nukus and Bukhara.9

On the basis of the Bukhara branch of the Tashkent State Dental Institute, on September 2, 2014, the department of pediatric dentistry was created.

By order of the director of the Tashkent State Dental Institute of the Bukhara branch A.Sh. Inoyatov, on July 22, 2016, the head of the department was appointed candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Kamalova Feruza Rakhmatillaevna. Kamalova Feruza Rakhmatilloyevna was born in Bukhara. Specialty dentist, maxillofacial surgeon of the highest category. In 1996 she entered the Faculty of Dentistry of the Bukhara State Medical Institute and successfully graduated in 2001. In 2001-2003 she graduated from the clinical residency in the direction of surgical dentistry of the Bukhara State Medical Institute.

    2003-2016 worked at the Department of Surgical Dentistry of the Bukhara State Medical Institute as an assistant, from 2016 to the present day she is the head of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Kamalova FR in 2010 on June 24 defended her thesis on the topic: “Improving the treatment and prevention of complications of purulent periostitis of the jaws in children.” Currently working on a doctoral topic: “Development and evaluation of the effectiveness of the program for the prevention of major dental diseases in children with diabetes.”
