Department history

The Chair  was established on October 30, 1990 by order of the rector of the Institute №4 \ 7 and began its work on the basis of the “Languages” department. The first head of the chair was appointed doctor of  Philology, prof. N.T.Shodiev. From 1991 to 2009 the the Chair ​​was headed by Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor E. Kh. Khamroev. On August 28, 1992, the chair “Languages”  was divided into two parts – “Foreign languages” and “Uzbek language, literature and Russian language” chairs, and Nazrullo Naimovich Naimov became the head of the chair “Uzbek language, literature and Russian language” from September 9, 1992 to 1997. From 1997 to 2013, the chair was headed by Ph.D., associate professor M.N. Khikmatova. The chair was reunited and renamed into a single one as “Languages, pedagogics and psychology”.And from November 18, 2013 the department was headed by Professor K.B. Shodmonov. Since August 2017, the chair was renamed into the “Chair of Languages”.

In August 2018, by order of the rector of the Institute, the chair was renamed as “Pedagogics, Psychology and Languages” and the head of  it became Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor G.N. Kurbanova. By order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 21, 2019 No. 87.04.2665, the chair was renamed into “Uzbek Language and Literature”. Currently, the chair employs 11 people. Bakhronova Zubaida Saidovna and associate professor Abdullaeva Dilorom Akhmedovna constantly work at the department “Uzbek language and literature”, training students in a high moral spirit and teaching future qualified medical specialists.
