Abstract
Synthetic cathinones, including mephedrone and alpha-PVP, and synthetic cannabinoids, such as spice, are most popular in Uzbekistan and are sold online through the darknet. A review of world literature has shown that most of them are devoted to the channels of distribution, the harm and negative consequences of NPS, the level of awareness and motivations for the use of NPS. There are gaps in our understanding of the psychosocial and health needs of NPS users, how they should be contacted, and what harm reduction measures are needed.
