Abstract

The largest number of endocrine cells of the APUD system is found at the tubular stage of lung histogenesis, preceding the development of acini. Neuroepithelial bodies make the greatest contribution to endocrine support. With the beginning of the development of pulmonary acini, there are fewer endocrinocytes, due to a decrease in the number of neuroepithelial bodies.
