Abstract

Circadian rhythms in the general integument are under the control of the local melatonin-serotonergic system. One of the main components of which is the hormone melatonin and its receptors. Chronodestruction caused by light deprivation promotes changes in the receptor part of the skin melatonin-serotonergic system. Moreover, the expression of MTNR1A receptors directly affects the effectiveness of the hormone itself. It was experimentally established that light deprivation leads to a significant decrease in the expression level of MTNR1A receptors in the epidermis on the 7th and 14th days. Administration of exogenous melatonin to animals from the first day of the experiment helps smooth out the negative effect of chronodestruction and has a beneficial effect on the epidermis.
